Fresh fruits, especially berries and stone fruits, are packed with phytonutrients that are incredibly beneficial to our circulation! Here’s a tasty recipe that’s incredibly nutritious, packed full of powerful plant compounds called flavonoids which are shown to help with a host of circulatory issues including lowering cholesterol and blood pressure. Juicing for circulation is a great way to bring our bodies into good health.

The Juice: Real Fruit Punch

Makes 36 fl oz

Ingredients

4 c Grapes

4 Peaches

16 oz Strawberries

Directions

Rinse and destem the grapes.

Rinse and pit the peaches.

Rinse and de-green (optional) the strawberries.

Run all ingredients through your juicer and enjoy!

The Details: Healing for Your Heart

Potassium contained in grapes can help regulate blood pressure. This is accomplished through potassium’s ability to dilate blood vessels, plus the secondary effect of allowing the body to excrete excess sodium.

Peaches may lower heart disease risk factors, like high blood pressure and cholesterol. Studies have found that the antioxidants, flavonoids, and polyphenols found in peaches bind bile acids. By binding these acids, the cholesterol attached to them is also bound and then excreted through feces, thereby lowering cholesterol levels in the bloodstream.

The anthocyanins in strawberries may improve heart health by improving blood pressure and HDL (good) cholesterol levels, as well as blood platelet function.
