Sinus infections are a nasty business. Aside from the obvious mucus, they sap our energy, rob us of our sense of taste and smell, and can make it hard to get through the day. Juicing for sinus infection is a good way to get them out of your head, literally. This recipe is a great place to begin.

The Details: Clear Your Head

Mangoes possess over a dozen polyphenols that remove free radicals from our bodies. These antioxidants help boost our immune system. Notable are vitamins A and C. Vitamin A acts as an anti-inflammatory, possibly helping reduce sinus pressure, while Vitamin C helps to boost our white blood cell count.

Oranges are known for their high vitamin C content, which works to fight infection by boosting those all-important white blood cells. They’re also full of other antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds, like flavonoids, that also support the immune system‘s fight against sinus infection.

Carrots, too, are a significant source of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds, particularly carotenoids and vitamins A and C. Their vitamin B6 content is also a potential weapon against sinus infection, as it is key to optimal immune responsiveness, and its deficiency is linked to a weakened immune system.

The isothiocyanates in horseradish are linked to bacteria reduction in the mouth, which can accompany a sinus infection. There is also evidence that this root helps alleviate sinus infection and improve respiratory symptoms.
