What Are the Benefits of Detox Juice?

Juicing, in general, is a great way to boost your health. They provide a vast array of nutrients in a concentrated, easily-absorbable package to help your body heal itself. Here’s an example:

  • A single small orange has 51.1 mg of vitamin C (1).
  • The recommended daily amount of vitamin C is 75 mg (women) and 90 (men) (2).
  • It takes an average of 4 small oranges to make a cup of fresh juice (8 fl oz).
  • One cup of OJ is just over 200 mg of vitamin C.

What’s in This Celery Juice Cleanse Recipe?

Detox juice comes in many different forms; green juices are popular, some are 100% fruit, and others, like this one, are celery-based. I’ve added other health-promoting ingredients to boost the detox power of this recipe.

Polyphenols in apples help to protect our cells from oxidative damage and inflammation, two primary underlying causes of cancer and heart disease (4). Its mild laxative effect also helps remove toxin-laden fecal matter to allow your body to concentrate on repair and regeneration. (5)

Celery juice is also rich in antioxidant compounds as well as luteolin and pyrroloquinoline quinone, both of which are thought to reduce gut inflammation (6, 7, 8). Reducing inflammation in the gut helps support healthy waste elimination and nutrient absorption.

Boost your body’s natural ability to create good health with this fantastic detox juice loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatories!


  • 5 Apples
  • 5 Celery Stalks
  • 3 Oranges
  • 3” Thumb of Ginger
  • 3” Thumb of Turmeric


  1. Wash the apples.
  2. Scrub the celery.
  3. Peel the oranges.
  4. Scrub the ginger and turmeric.
  5. Run all ingredients through your juicer and enjoy!!!


If you’ve checked out some of my other recipes, you’ll notice that I usually don’t peel my fruits and vegetables before juicing them. One exception is when I have multiple pieces of citrus in a recipe. Too much citrus peel will result in a bitter, pungent-tasting juice that I personally don’t enjoy. 

In such cases, I may leave the peel on one (two if they’re small, like limes or lemons) to get some of the added beneficial nutrients found in citrus peel. Experiment to see how much, if any, peel you like to leave on when juicing. No matter what you decide, be sure to Enjoy and Stay Juicy!
